Insurgency or Emergency

Picture of a check-point
during the Emergency.

The Emergency
Truly an Insurgency
A real war at large

Fifties were its height
Casualties were on both sides
The pain never erased

Ashes too not spared
The fallen still remembers
Turning in their graves

Dear Hal,
Went through the FRA (food restricted area)era. Still too young then but still able to wonder why all the fuss. It was an experience of what an Emergency was. Thanks for the memories!

Dear Hank,
The Emergency is still vivid in my memory. My Dad used to take me on his Enfield motorcycle through Bukit Putus where a company of British soldiers were encamped at the pass and a road block was set-up, because the CT's were active there.
