Delving into poetry

My fellow blogger, Hank said I should try going into poetry. Though I am not so confident as him, but I shall try my hand. So here goes;

My First Try

Full of trepidation

To find the right words

For the right expression

Lo and behold !

I am no Shakespeare or Byron

But a meek try for a reason.

Dear Hal,
Great! That's one stanza. And a very appropriate start. No one's a Shakespeare definitely. Very good!
If you see Magpie #42 at :

http://magpietales.blogspot.com/2010/11/mag-42.html

it can take many forms. Some rhymes like pantuns, some just like sajaks and some just 3 liners.

You can start 2 or 3 stanzas with the prompt of a trophy. Syed did it at #58 and mine at #22.

Make it your 2nd posting. Happy poetry days coming up!

P/S We're not starting from zero. Your Queen's English is perfect for poetry! Just carry on the momentum!

Dear Akhi, I just discovered that Akhi Hank is an accomplished poet. Am jubilant that you're going into it now. Welcome to a world of imageries, allusions, symbolisms and emotional intelligence.

Welcome to the world of poetry.
I am sure you will love the rewards - beyond material, beyond price.

And once you embrace poetry, there will be no trepidation, just unbridled joy.
