Yesterday was the last meeting of the Committee of which I became the Chairman since 1984 where I handed over all the matters pertaining to the administration of the estate of my late grandfather to the new board of directors of the above company. It was with much relief that I finally managed to have a smooth transfer of responsibility to my businessman cousin who will be the Chairman of the newly formed company who will become the trustee for all the assets in the form of land which will be distributed to the beneficiaries of my late grandfather. Even my late mother could not remember how he looked like, because he passed away when she was still a toddler. But from a faded group photostatted copy of him sitting next to the Dato Klana Putra, reminded me of a grand old man with a moustache and beard, more like a warrior. So in keeping with the deep respect for him, his beneficiaries decided to name the company after him. It was a long and convoluted history of sorts to reach this goal. Now with the load off my shoulder, I look forward to see the ultimate happening of being a shareholder and attending the first Annual General Meeting which must be held before March 2009.
